Hello beautiful people of the world ☺

Sending some Greek sun to those of you dealing with a harsh winter right now. Hold on just a little more…Spring is one the way
This week I started my last semester in college. It’s definitely bittersweet; I’m happy to finally be done with assignments and research papers but then I am sad and anxious when I think that this journey will come to an end and whether my skills will be enough to get a job in the real world. Regardless, I will still enjoy my last months of this beautiful, almost surreal life I have here.

With that being said, I wanna share with you something that has been going on in my head lately regarding this whole concept of “blogging”. I am taking a class on internet advertising which is starting to make me become very conscious about the messages I receive in the world wide web. I am mostly talking about advertising; how everything on my news feed on social media whether I want it or not is trying to sell me a product. I was definitely aware of it but I guess now that I am learning about this subject I got very skeptical about these messages I encounter. Naturally, I link everything in my life with blogging and this subject has especially made me question the persuasion of blogs nowadays. The blogosphere is supposed to be a space where people share experiences with each other through writing and other creative ways in order to be more informed and open minded about the world. This is definitely the main reason I started reading blogs, as an alternative means of information through other “average” people like you and me. But when you think of blogging today; how much of it is really about helping the community anyways?! I would say that I stand on the side with those who think that blogging should be less about advertising and more about authenticity and transparency. I am mentioning blogging in particular but let’s not forget that everything that we click on the Internet is trying to sell us a product in one way or another. In other terms this shows how commercialized the world has become and I’m kinda sad about it. In any way I don’t judge those who are trying to make money out of blogging through advertising particular products, it is definitely a skill to learn how to do so. As someone who spends a lot of time working on her blog I would say that it would definitely be an incentive to make money out of it, but as a reader, I wish that this commercialization will not escalate as much and that we will still have authentic, creative and over all informative blogs. Above all, I want you to remember that I am a reader before I am a writer and that I want to keep the blogosphere community as “innocent” as possible. I would like to hear what do you guys think on this topic as well as fellow readers. Remember to be aware that everyone on the internet is trying to sell you something; it’s not necessarily bad or good, just know that you are being sent a message all the time.

Now before I say goodbye, hope you like today’s outfit…it was really casual and random; all pieces are in my closet for many years now. Good clothes never go out of style; just like these leopard ankle boots, I wear them every year in a different way. We shot these pictures at the boardwalk in my neighborhood and we were so lucky to have such a sunny day. As you can tell, there were a lot of people walking their dogs or jogging and then it was me posing my “jumping series” ahahaha I love how casual photo shooting has become and how easily I forget that I am in a public space shared with others (lol). Never be afraid of who you are and stand up for what you believe; that’s the MOTTO!! Peace ☺
