Adventure Club

Oh la-laaa!! Another day another party…just kidding, entertaining is not the only thing I do in life even though according to my blog it does. I’m just trying to write about interesting activities and encounters that I go through daily, rather than spam the blog with boring stuff, not my style ☺

So…I went to Adventure Club’s concert in Governor’s Island this weekend, it was so much fun! I did not have the tickets until the night before the show and this whole time I thought the venue was a casual club in New Jersey. It turns out the event starts in the afternoon and lasts until midnight; it’s like going to a music festival for a day. I was definitely not prepared for that, I went wearing this purple conservative shirt, which got ruined in less than 30 minutes of being there, it was so hot. It was my first time wearing these cute slip-ons and had to put them in the bag as soon as I got there because the venue was a beach club in sand. When going to shows, you have to be very smart about what you wear because you are going to be in those clothes all day, dancing and you want to be comfortable. Always look up the venue before going to a show and dress accordingly because it’s not worth it to be uncomfortable at a very long day.

Governor’s island is a dream-land, 5 minute ferry ride from south Manhattan which overlooks the city from the beach club which is a massive venue. Apparently they host shows every weekend and it’s a very popular place for electronic dance music fans, mostly young adults. The after parties continue in clubs in the city after midnight and go on until the morning. I really enjoyed my time there, it was a fun vibe even though the music was a little mainstream for my taste but Adventure Club killed it. Dancing to the music with the view of Manhattan from the side was magical; I fell in love with it even more. The food and drinks were so overpriced but when you are at a music show that’s usually the case. Everyone was so happy to be there, you could tell from their faces; people were raging from the ferry ride and a lot of them were passed out before the sunset. The appreciation of love and respect was all over the place and that’s the reason why I go to music shows, it fills me up with positivity. I am so grateful for another crazy, eye opening experience in America, as my days here are coming to an end I have more and more to think about…I don’t wanna leave ☹
